Data Subset / Filter Guide
The Data Subset / Filter option in the Sensitivity Analysis Toolbox allows users to refine their dataset by applying various filters based on specified criteria. This feature enables users to create subsets of data that meet certain conditions, making it easier to analyze, visualize, and derive insights from targeted portions of the data. Through this process, users can assess the impact of specific variables and ensure that their analyses focus on relevant data points.
Step 1: Select Subset Module
Begin by selecting your subset from the Workflow panel on the left. Click on Subset-1_dataset_1 under Data Subset / Filter
Step 2: Choose Data Source
In the main interface, select your dataset from the Source dropdown menu to designate which dataset you want to filter.
Step 3: Choose Filtering Method
Select the filtering method ( Filter or Resampling) from the Method dropdown menu.
Filtering Method
Step 4: Set Filtering Options
For filtering method, configure the filtering options for each variable displayed. You can adjust the sliders or input exact values to define the range for filtering.
Resampling Method
Step 4': Configure Resampling Options
To refine your dataset with Resampling option. Here, you can specify the Subset Sample Size, which determines how many data points will be included in your resampled subset. Additionally, select the Subset Sampling Method. You can choose between methods such as Random sampling for a randomized selection of data points or Fixed-Step sampling for a consistent sampling approach. If you choose the Upper Segment option, it will sample data points from the upper portion of your dataset. Conversely, the Lower Segment option will sample from the lower portion.
Step 5: Create Subset
Once you have set your filtering options, click the Create/Update Subset button to apply the filter and generate a new subset based on your parameters.
Step 6: Visualize Subset
After creating the subset, the filtered data will be visualized, showcasing the distribution of selected variables. In the interface, you can navigate through the charts by clicking on the variable tab. You will see a plot of each variable, with distinct sections representing the original dataset and the created subset, allowing for visual comparison of both.
Step 7: Review Summary Information
Finally, review the summary information for both the source and the subset data displayed at the bottom of the interface. This section provides key statistics, including the total dataset size, as well as descriptive percentiles for each variable, This allows for a quantitative comparison between the original dataset and the subset, including the minimum and maximum values for each variable, helping you to assess the impact of your filtering.
Step 8: Disply the created subset
Once the subset is created, you can view the filtered dataset in a notepad by clicking Display Subset (Save) button.
Step 9: Save the Subset Data
To save the filtered subset data, navigate to the file menu and select Save As. Choose your desired file location and format (e.g., text file) in the pop-up window. Name your file and click Save to preserve your subset data for future use or further analysis.
Create New Subset
You can create an additional subset based on your specified criteria. To do this, right-click on Data Subset / Filter in the workflow panel. This will reveal a context menu with options, including Create New Subset. You can also choose to Rename or Delete existing subsets as needed.
